Why Fieldstone
Our founders sought to create a senior living community that reflects their own values and vision for their loved ones. This commitment is at the heart of Fieldstone’s approach to senior care. We aim to provide personalized experiences that foster meaningful moments among residents, their families, and our staff. By cultivating a supportive and engaging environment, we ensure that each day is filled with opportunities for joy, fulfillment, and growth.
At Fieldstone, we make it easy to transition to different levels of care as your needs change. Our goal is to help you continue to enjoy life and remain part of our community while receiving the appropriate support. In some locations, we offer enhanced independent living, assisted living, and memory care all on the same campus. This allows residents to receive specialized care tailored to their needs while keeping couples and families close together.
Mission
The roots of Fieldstone’s mission trace back to co-owner Doug Ellison’s childhood. At just seven years old, Doug accompanied his father, Gerald, on visits to nursing homes. Gerald, a physician, demonstrated a compassionate approach to his patients, leaving a lasting impression on Doug. Witnessing his father’s loving interactions with patients and the often stark environments they visited, Doug resolved to one day improve the lives of seniors. This vision came to fruition in 2014 with the opening of the first Fieldstone community in Yakima, WA.
Gerald Ellison’s impact as a family physician spanned 44 years in the Yakima community. His kindness and compassion left a lasting legacy, and former patients often share their affection for Dr. Ellison with Doug and his family. Gerald’s gentle approach inspired the founding of Fieldstone and continues to guide our mission to create joyful, vibrant communities where residents can thrive.
Happy Residents. Happy Families.

We couldn’t have…
…done it without Fieldstone, I honestly mean that from the bottom of my heart, we couldn’t have done it without everybody here.

The amount of caregivers…
…per resident is amazing, the amount of time that they spend with them, and the way they treat them. Most importantly though is the love they give them.

To me thriving means…
…being able to live your life… Fieldstone was not just interested in meeting Mom’s physical needs, but in creating an environment she could actually still thrive in.
