Senior care was brand new to Lil'Norma when she started with Fieldstone Memory Care Puyallup. Now a year in and two Employee of the Month awards later, this industry has become her calling. "I fell in love with helping others, especially the elders," she said. "I enjoy working with them instead of rushing."
She’s danced with them, sang karaoke, and connected with residents and families at events. She especially enjoys learning about their life experiences and what brought them to Fieldstone. One moment she cherishes is a dance with Mary Bentley, one of the residents. “I wanted her to have that moment,” Lil’Norma shared.
Lil’Norma’s positive attitude and heart for service earned her Employee of the Month twice, in November 2025 and June 2026. A year into her senior living career, Lil’Norma is proud of her personal growth.
“I am most proud of showing up even when days are hard. I used to be the type to quit. Knowing that someone is counting on me to show up helps me shift my perspective.”
Fieldstone’s mission statement is: Together We Create a Joyful and Vibrant Community. Lil’Norma’s favorite word in this mission is joyful. “It’s felt by the residents and changes the atmosphere,” she said.
