Merry & Bright at Fieldstone Communities

Fieldstone Bainbridge

It may be cold and gray outside, but things were sure merry and bright across Washington State in our Fieldstone Communities in December! Our residents enjoyed festivities all month to bring them lots of holiday cheer.

December kicked off with pure fun at Fieldstone Memory Care of Bainbridge Island when Elvis (Danny Vernon) delighted residents with all the sparkle and charm you could hope for. In addition to the spectacular Elvis impersonator, we had a singing group called Crescendo come, and one of our residents, Margaret, treated us to her piano-playing skills! We had a show-stopper of a charcuterie spread and strawberry chocolate cake, s’mores bars, and fruit tarts!

Fieldstone Memory Care Bainbridge Island residents have also been enjoying an elaborate miniature snow village, and we had a special visit from Mrs. Bainbridge and the American Legion Commander with Christmas gifts for our veterans from the American Legion Auxiliary. Plus, our halls were literally ringing with the sounding of bells by some special visitors, a handbell choir!

The Yakima campus, which includes Fieldstone Memory Care and Independent & Assisted Living at OrchardWest, enjoyed piano recitals by forty-three students who have shared their talents with our residents as well as children caroling from First Baptist Church and the Montessori school. Families enjoyed a Christmas lunch with our residents and had a special visit from a jolly man in a red suit with a white beard and a twinkle in his eye on Christmas day!

Fieldstone Memory Care of Silverdale kicked off December with a performance from a large, 25-piece wind instrument band called “The Backwoods Wind Jammers.” It was a huge success, and the residents loved it. We were also busy with arts and crafts—lots of Christmas ornaments and special decorations. Each Wednesday, we take a group of residents to our local shopping mall to do a morning mall walk. It was especially fun during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

At Fieldstone Memory Care of Puyallup, we were thrilled to have over 90 RSVPs for family members to join our residents for a family dinner night! That made for our biggest event since opening! The night began with happy hour, appetizers, beverages, and live entertainment. We even had a photo booth for the families! After happy hour, we enjoyed a beautiful, traditional Christmas dinner with Santa. We also had a volunteer to sing to residents during dinner.

We love to see our residents’ faces lit up with all the celebrations & excitement going on through the holidays - arts and crafts, cocoa and cookies, sing-a-longs, cozy meals, and holiday decorations decking the halls. And one of our favorite things: light tours on our comfortable buses so that residents can enjoy all the twinkling lights of the season and feel connected to the community.

Our communities are much more than nursing home or senior memory care facilities—they are vibrant and full of warmth and caring staff who want to make this season of life full of joy and connection. From independent and assisted living to specialized memory care for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia—if you are wondering about what makes Fieldstone different from nursing homes in your area, please come see for yourself. We invite you to schedule a tour! We offer graduated care to care to match each resident’s level of need, often all on the same campus—so if things change, a move can often mean a short hop across the campus to stay nearby.

To all our residents’ loved ones and family members—thank you for sharing your loved ones with us. They are our Fieldstone family. Fieldstone Communities’ mission is all about vibrant and joyful living—and the darkness of winter invites the lights to shine bright within our communities. We hope to see you in 2024 for our many get-togethers. Please check your community’s calendar and join us for a meal or entertainment soon!

Moving into 2024, we wish you a joyful & vibrant year ahead. May your hearts be full of love, peace, and joy!
