At just seven years old, Doug accompanied his father, Gerald, on visits to nursing homes. Gerald, a physician, demonstrated a compassionate approach to his patients, leaving a lasting impression on Doug. Witnessing his father&#8217;s loving interactions with patients and the often stark environments they visited, Doug resolved to one day improve the lives of seniors. This vision came to fruition in 2014 with the opening of the first Fieldstone community in Yakima, WA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Gerald Ellison&#8217;s impact as a family physician spanned 44 years in the Yakima community. His kindness and compassion left a lasting legacy, and former patients often share their affection for Dr. Ellison with Doug and his family.
